Why am I not losing weight?

I am 5'9" tall and I weigh almost 170 pounds. I am a size 10, but would like to be an 8 or even a 6. When I weigh 150 pounds, I am a size 6, and I am happy that way, but other people think I'm too thin, and the only way I can maintain that weight is by starving myself, so it's just not convenient for the long term! LOL So, I'm trying to lose about 15 pounds and I've been running 3+ miles a day (5-6 days a week) plus bike riding 2-4 miles a day (at least 4 days a week) plus I have stopped snacking after dinner and have been consciously reducing my portion sizes, and still I am GAINING weight rather than losing. :( So, I was wondering about using a product like Dexatrim Max2O, but I'm wary of weight loss products because of the side effects and also because I'm afraid I will gain all the weight back when I stop using them. Why am I not losing weight? What can I do to lose the weight faster? Bathing suit season is coming up and I feel FAT! :(
Answer:
First, throw away the scale.
Your goal is to be tighter, i.e fit into a size 6 without starving yourself.
Get a weight set. By doing weights, you tighten up the body.
Do the weights once a week.
You are gaining weight because you are starving yourself. Your body is turning more food into fat because you are starving.Eat 5 small meals a day. A bananna is a small meal. An apple is an small meal. Then you will have food balance and not be hungry, not have to starve yourself to death.Nothing wrong with the running and bike riding. This will make you healthier. But you need to do the weights one day a week. Pick the day you do not do aerobics.Don't use the mirror to deterimine if you are fat. You see what you want to see in the mirror, good or bad. Take photos of yourself. Photos show the true you.Hope this helps.
YOUR OVER DOING IT ON THE EXCERSIZE. U NEED TO SPEAK WITH YOUR DOCTOR AND TELL HIM EVERYTHING SEE WHAT HE SUGGESTS
Muscle weighs more then fat- Once your muscles develope you may see a weight lose.
try balsam pear diet

Don't go overboard with exercise. You should exercise moderately. Cut out meats, dairy, and starches as much as possible. When I went vegan, I lost a lot of weight that I wasn't even trying to lose. I'm still trying to gain it back! Plus, you just feel better. And leave those diet pills alone! You don't need them! God gave us a natural way to be the weight that we are supposed to be!
If you are doing that intense of a work out, you may be gaining muscles which weighs more than fat. Do not go by the scale, use a tape measure and keep a log of your measurements. I would definetly continue eating healthy and exercising, but if you are truely concernced, I would visit the doctor for any questions and concerns. He/she may be able to find if there is an underlying medical problem such as the thyroid. I would stay away from any weight loss supplement, they may cause unwanted side effects, you may have to cut back on the exercising though. Try eating 5-6 small meals a day to keep your metabolism up and work out enough to get good cardio, maybe about 30-45 minutes a day of light cardio instead of such an intense work out. Good luck.

your activity level sounds good, keep it up. But what you may be lacking is more protein in your diet. The initial weight lost may have been water weight and some fat. That's OK, but now it sounds as though the body is using muscle as a fuel( which is a more readily available source) of fuel as opposed to fat. Increase your protein consumption to preserve muscle from breaking down. Muscle is protein, so it takes protein to make and maintain protein.
firstly you may have lost alot of fat weight and gained muscle weight which would result in the scale not changing despite your measurements and health changing. secondly you may be working yourself too hard and putting yourself in starvation mode, thirdly you are not that heavy and perhaps your body break down (muscles, bones, organs) simply won't allow you to be as skinny as you would like
Im no proffesional I'm just a human movement science student. But this may help. It is possible that your body has in a way got used to the same exercise. A great cardio idea is called High Intensity interval training (HIIT). It incorporates a moderate warm up (2mins) A sprint (1min) moderate exercise (1min) keep doing this for around 10-15 mins incuding the warm up. This will burn alot of fat in a short space of time. Your diet sounds a bit scattered, but i may be interpreting it wrong. But a general idea should be cardio on an empty stomach, followed by breakfast, mid morning snack (brunch), lunch, mid afternoon snack (if required), dinner. I guess your a vegetarian, so a fantastic protein source would be lentils or beans. Just make sure your diet includes protein, complex carbs (veggies etc) and unsaturated fats (nuts, fish if you can). Hope that helps. Sorry I couldnt give you more specific advice.
Yes HIIT is great! You may need to be eating a little more, yes some people will stick their noses up at that, but the fact is, sometimes we dont eat enough so we hold onto the fat that is there. We eat just enough to not lose any and not enough to let our body know it really isnt starving! I can give you a detailed plan if you like and couch you online since it sounds like you are out of my area.Contact me at http://www.betterbodiesbycarmel.com/... because you are undereating - in the beginning body loses water weight and muscle, metabolism slows down dramatically and all the food you eat is being stored as fat reserves.
find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
hi- im no expert-
Do you eat breakfast? if not, then this certainly wont help, as it helps give your body a kickstart for the day, burning calories. Your body has probably got used to the exercise routine- so you need to exercise more or cut back on the calories. Try and use bread made from wholegrains as these are less easily stored as fat because they pass through the digestive tract more quickly.

Why am I losing weight?

I was upset over my aunt's death and upset over my 1st breakup and I didn't feel like eating much in the past few months. As a result, I've lost some weight. I've started to eat normally recently and expected to gain back some weight but it hasn't happened and seems like I'm still losing weight. Of course I'm happy that I'm losing weight but I'm also worried about my body condition. Should I consult a doctor about this or is this normal?
Answer:
The first thing you should do is really calculate your BMI.Type in BMI calculator on google, and you'll get a lot of hits.It will tell you if you're underweight, or still in a normal range. You may think you're back to your old eating habits, but you might not be.
You might still be in a phase where you still aren't craving food all the time.http://in.rediff.com/getahead/2005/aug/2...That site has a lot of things you can do if you feel like you should be packing on pounds. After you try some of the tips on that site for a week or two, your BMI says you're underweight, and the numbers on the scale keep dropping, then call up doc. ;)
you need a doctor
http://www.best-diet-food.com
Yes..stress can do that and lack of the initiative to eat.
I went thru tough times with deaths, break UPS when young and worry to end up with a weight loss...but when stable emotionally, I regained to my proper weight..
You lose weight when the number of calories you burn are more than the number of calories you take in. If you eat a little bit, but work out all the time, you can lose weight.Just make sure you're getting three normal meals a day.
I went through the same thing. Stress can do that to you. I noticed I was losing way too much weight and tried eating more. I didn't start gaining weight back until my life balanced out emotionally, it didn't matter how much food I ate.
If you are really worried about it go see a doctor, otherwise, I'd recommend working on healing your emotional scars and focus on trying to be happy again. Once the stress goes away you should start packing on the pounds.
Good Luck!
Well when you are upset and loose interest in eating than of course you will loose weight. Back in highschool me and my boyfriend started to fall apart and eventually we broke up. I lost about 15 pds. I didn't even notice I did anything diffferent. I think I was just so upset about us being apart that others things really didn't matter. If you need someone to talk to about recent events in your life go see someone or just try to recover on your own :) by talking to friends and family.

Why am I losing weight overall but not around my abdominal area?

..anyone?..ideas?..getting really frustrated..
:-D thanks appreciate ur answers
Answer:
That's the common problem. Abdominal area is the first part that get bigger when the weight gain and also the last one that lost when the weight goes down.Few ideas :
The abdominal area is usually the part where the muscles is very loose, especially if you're not a very active, physically well trained, person. We use the muscle of the legs to walk and the arms to lift something on our everyday life, but the abdominal muscle? Nope. That's even worse if you was big, eat a lot, or even worse, had pregnant, then both the muscle and the skin loose, and it makes the abs looks bigger than its actual size.
Try sucking up your abs hard, hold the breath, if the shape and size changes dramatically (2" or more) then it's too loose. If you can fit 2 size smaller only by sucking it or wearing corset, then you definitely have to trained that weak abdominal muscles.
Do crunches, lots of it. If you have the time, try a complete pilates exercise, they focused on the abs region.
When you say lose weight, are you referring to scale weight, or body fat? Two totally different things. While the scale says you are losing weight, your body fat might be the same, and more than likely if you are losing scale weight, your body fat percentage is increasing. The scale does nothing but confuse and frustrate you. Everything depends upon body fat. I would suggest having a trainer measure your BF with skin calipers, and if the number is above 24%, you need to continue losing body fat until you are pleased with your midsection.
In recent years I have had a weight problem. When I gained this weight, the last to show up was in my abdomen/waist. I have been told that this weight is the hardest to lose and notice in recent months I seem to be getting slimmer in that area. Hope you don't have to wait much longer for results.
It is possible to lose weight everywhere else on your body, besides your abdominal area. It has been proven and shown that this is the one area in the body that is most difficult. The reason being is that all of the previous fat not burnt, gets stored mainly in the abdominal area, and if it is not used after a long time, it stays there and is difficult to get rid off. The best remedy for losing this fat is patience, and alot of hard work. You can do abdominal excercises and slowly but surely will se results, plus the best part of this is that you may not know it but by working out the abdominal area you are building yourself a 6 pak, and once the fat has gone, you shall see the results. Also try doing some running, this helps tremendously. Hard work, correct eating and patience is the key. Hope u achieve what you want :)

Why am i having trouble running when i have been running for a while?

i am healthy and fit. I am female. I play school lacross and latly i havnt been as good at runnning as i use to be. I am still not terrible but i have extremely slowed down which is really srange is their something wrong with me? what could be some possible reasons?
Answer:
I am going through a similiar decline. I find it extremely frustrating. Here are some suggestions that I've been asking myself:1) Check for overtraining. Are you doing a lot more than you used to be? Maybe you need a week off to rest and get fresh again.2) Weather change. This winter was a long one and with spring coming on, you probably don't have the speed you used to. Be patient. As you increase your training you should start seeing results. Also take into account any humidity you might be having.3) Iron deficiency. Did you change your diet? You may find it useful to have your iron checked or take a vitamin with minerals or include foods with plenty of iron.4) Depression / Burn out.5) Change of Diet -- not enough carbs?6) Injury -- do you have a nagging injury that is bothering you? 7) Getting enough water / hydration?8) Getting older or weight gain?9) Not changing your routine enough -- your body has adapted to your training and you need to give it new stimulus.Hope that offers some suggestions. You may find it useful to go see a doctor to get a general physical. I did and I came out clean, so I suspect my decline is a result of several of the ones I could think of above.Good luck.
no it's just probably normal

Why am I going so much??

Okay, so, since I started eating a normal diet again, I have been pooping 4 or 5 times a day! Its not always after meals, and it's not like it hurts, or is watery, so I'm pretty sure it's not IBS or diarrhea. Is it my metabolism? Because my doctor does say I have an unusually fast metabolism (I was embarassed to ask him about this problem). What's going on?
Answer:
CoNsider yOUrSelF FREAKING LUCKY!!! i wish i pooped that much..ahah. Nah it just means you digest quickly..which is good...try eating foods that help you get constipated..(geez i hate you) Oatmeal...its full of fiber, but if you dont drink much water its perfection!
Whenever you change your diet, your body needs to readjust.
The same thing would happen to your dog if you switched him from dry to wet food...You should be back to normal in a few days.
Holy crap!
LOL@Holy Crap!I assume when you say you are eating normal again that you have incorporated fresh fruits and vegetables into your diet. They will make you go a lot.I started drinking fruit smoothies in the morning to make sure I get my 5 fruits a day. The first week, I was in the bathroom a lot. Once your body becomes accustomed to the new way of eating, you'll go back to normal.
omg me too! I started having more fiber (fruit, bran, vegetables) and i started pooing like every 5 seconds. try cutting back on the fiber and diuretics (coffee, etc).
Don't worry. It's just nature cleansing your body!

Why am I getting strech marks when I'm losing weight?

Ive lost about 2.5kg over the last two wees, after starting a healthy eating plan, and i have noticed strech marks where they were not before... I know i have not gotten bigger at all.
any ideas as to why this is happening.?
Answer:
Stretch marks can be a side effect of dieting. If you lose too much weight too fast, stretch marks may occur. If you are trying to loose weight, don't aim to lose more than one pound a week.Step OneWith a little self-maintanence, you can restore your skin鈥檚 elasticity. By following the steps bellow your skin wll be tighter, brighter, and more brillant than before. Step 1: Drink 8-10 glasses of water per day: The first step to begin eliminating stretch marks is to work from the inside out. Drinking a sufficient amount of water is critical, because it ensures your body and tissues are properly hydrated. It also removes toxins from your body.
2Step TwoStep 2: Consume a Healthy Diet: By eating foods rich in essential fatty acids, such as fish, and protein and citrus rich foods like fruits, nuts and vegetables, your skin will become tighter, softer, and healthier everyday.
3Step ThreeStep 3: The Stretch Mark Eliminating Secret: Keep your skin moisturized with vitamins and essential oils. Although, there are several lotions and creams on the market, such Palmer鈥檚 and Strivectin, I would avoid these. They contain primarily artificial ingredients, alcohol, and a little bit of Cocoa Butter or Emu Oil. This is simply not enough to prevent or remove stretch marks. You need several natural oils, butters, scar-heaing ingredients, and essential oils to attack these marks. I recommend a product that is not found in stores. Beauty 4 Ashes鈥?Christian Health %26 Beauty Company makes fabulous all-natural stretch mark products at a fraction of the cost of Strivectin. Moreover, this product is far more powerful than Strivectin because it is all-natural and does not contain artificial ingredients had counteract the effectiveness of Emu Oil by drying the skin. Trust me, I have tried everything, and after 5 kids, I know what works. Beauty 4 Ashes stretch mark creams, oils, and butters contain skin-firming, collagen rebuilding, and elasticity strengthening essential oils, vitamins, and proteins. Their stretch mark products will fade your current stretch marks into oblivian and prevent any future stretch marks from forming. Plus, these creams have an added bonus, they tighten cellulite and tone the skin. Honestly, these creams are far better than anything I found in the store. These creams and oils were created to penetrate below your outer dermis and infuse areas where stretch marks are directly forming. Check the ingredients and products out for yourself. Even do research. The main ingredient in their creams are Aloe Vera, Vitamin E, Jojoba oil, and stretch mark reducing essential oils. Their website address is www.discoverb4a.com. As with all things, the best products are often the hardest to find, because they are less marketed, due to their effectiveness. Hopefully, I can save you from wasting a lot of time and money on those nasty stretch marks. And remember, to prevent stretch marks, you need to keep your skin infused with rich nutrients, vitamins, and moisture. Do not forget to maintain a healthy diet and drink plenty of water. Keep lotioning!
You're not getting them, sweetie. They're just becoming more apparent (they were already there) as your skin begins to retract.Sandy
It never appears when you start gaining weight but on loosing it appears because the fat below the skin has gone away. Person already slim %26 fit have bigger chances of it, appearance.
Stretch marks are to do with the elasticity of the skin or rather lack of it. Eat plenty of fruit and vegetables for vitamin c as this is needed to produce elastin and collagen. You may also be deficient in zinc which is important for healing. Prevention is better than cure but you can use bio oil.

Why am I getting skinnier?

I haven't changed my diet or workout patterns and I am getting thinner and losing my butt. Why is this and how do I make it stop?!
Answer:
You do not say how old you are but my first thought is to see a doctor. Normally people do not lose weight without a reason. Better safe than sorry.

Why am i getting more body fat?

For the past three weeks i go to the gym 5 times a week and do 45 minutes of cardio on the cross trainer BUT this week i tried on 7 pairs of jeans/pants and nothing fits, i sit and i see all this blob of fat hanging out-- what am i doing wrong? My body fat has gone up-my belly hips and thighs have gotten bigger than when i started the 45 minutes cardio
Answer:
If you aren't eating like an idiot...
You could just be putting on muscle, which is pushing out the fat since human's fat covers muscle (unlike other animals where the fat is interspersed and doesn't hang grossly).I suggest doing some calorie calculations on your exercises and your food intake, and if it isn't adding up you should see a doctor.
are you sure that it was your body fat the went up. You could be putting on muscle which will make you larger.
Make sure your diet is good. A guide is 40%protein, 40%carbs (complex carbs), 20% good fats.If you want a good article i found then feel free to message me. :)
Working out will be a waste of time if you arnt eating healthy. Also, the more cardio you do(running, ect) the more muscel you will get. This may make it seem like your legs are getting bigger but if you keep the the exercise it will all pay off in the end and you will have slim TONED legs.Keep it up!
because your eating more fat than your burning.
You must be doing the wrong program. Your muscles must have developed underneath all that fat. Do you sweat a lot? Sweat burns fat fast. Try running outdoors. MAil me if you want a copy of the three day diet that makes you lose ten pounds in three days.

Why am i fatter...?

compared to 6 months ago i weigh at least a stone more, yet eat healthier and exercise more. I am struggling to lose weight or inches and am starting to get quite down.any ideas for reasons or solutions??
Answer:
how much you eat is also a factor.. if you're eating the right foods, but eating more of them, you're still going to put on weight.. you need to eat the right foods and eat small portions.. and make sure you keep exercising.. you know how you feel weak when you exercise and you haven't eaten enough? that means your body is burning fat to use for energy because there's not enough food in your stomach.. that's how you burn fat off your body.. if you always make sure your tummy is full, you'll never see your weight go down because your body is getting all it's energy from the food in your stomach.. at the same time though, you can't totally starve yourself.. just eat small portions.. try eating something like 1 egg for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and a bowl of (healthy) cereal for dinner.. and make sure you drink plenty of water throughout the day.. when you exercise, you'll feel really tired because your body is taking energy from your fat reserves.. but take joy in that tiredness because it means you are losing fat..
Muscle weighs more than fat and so you will weigh more if you have built muscle. It can also bulk you out a bit if you build the wrong typeGet yourself down to a gym for some one on one advice and the first session is usally freeDont get down, get into it again and Im sure you will see resultsGood luck
well i could tell you but i need more info like what is your diet?
What do you do in your exercises/workouts? Let me know and i can help.
YOUR STILL EATING THE WRONG FOOD
try a specific vegetable, and a specific work out. like. run for 10 days, then do sit-ups for another 10 days, and something else for 10 days. pretty simple in my terms.
You may be building muscle mass which weights more than fat. You also may be on a diet that doesn't agree with you. There is some thought that certain blood types should avoid certain foods. For instance, type O are allergic to wheat. It causes the body to build fat through an allergic reaction. You can research the web for this info. Dr. Atkins diet works wonders on some people, particularly if you limit carbs for only 2 weeks, then gradually re-introduce them into your diet to see the reaction.
Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day. Take only water in between. Include plenty of fruits and uncooked vegetables in ur food intake. Chew each morsel 32 times to enable activating ur body to generate signals to warn u that u have had enough.Take regular light exercises and brisk walks, preferably twice a day. This will enable u to achieve what u thought was impossible.

Yikes! You've been given a number of frightening suggestions! Anyway, I know sometimes when I eat healthier and exercise more, my pants seem to shrink. I think it's because I foolishly stop worrying about portion size. Anyway, you might also have an illness. Make sure you talk to your doctor at your next visit. In the meantime, keep learning about what is truly healthy eating. I'd start with published books and guide, including government publications. (Yes, they sometimes are slanted towards a lobby group, but they are generally more balanced and accurate than diets backed by a famous doctor.) In addition, most of us that have a healthy attitude towards food, aren't really aware of just how much we eat, and what normal portion sizes actually are. Without obsessing over it, measure a few of your favourite meals. Losing weight might be as simple as using smaller dishes. Above all, if you otherwise feel very healthy, and aren't significantly overweight, I wouldn't worry too much. Just discuss your concerns at your next doctor's visit.
You are fatter because you are taking in more fuel (as calories) than you are burning (as energy). It's simple mathematics. The ONLY diet that will ever work is a lifestyle change. As soon as you quit dieting and eat unhealthily you will put the weight back on again, plus some more. This is because your metabolic rate has dropped. Here are some facts for you:Small frame = Low metabolic rate
Large frame = High metabolic rateIf you really want to lose weight healthily and have a good chance of keeping it off, you need to calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). You can do this by clicking on the following link:http://www.weightlossforgood.co.uk/bmr_c...Ok, you've probably got a 4 digit figure. (Mine is 1359).
This figure is the number of calories your body needs each day just to exist i.e. if I layed in bed all day and didn't move a muscle, my body would need 1359 calories each day to exist. i.e.1359 calories would keep all my vital organs going, like the heart and brain etc. However, if you wanted to spend the entire day running around, you would need to consume MORE calories than your BMR or your body will be deficient in calories and will eat up it's own fat stores as fuel.THIS IS THE CLEVER PART - if you eat no more than your BMR each day, then you will lose weight easily because your body will need to burn fat to make up the difference. And it's perfectly safe and healthy, because you are not depriving your body. You are giving your body all the calories that it needs to function healthily. It only becomes unhealthy if you drop your calorie allowance BELOW your BMR. In this circumstance, you'll be burning off muscle too. xxx
Muscle weighs more than fat. Use a measuring tape to track your progress. You are exercising and building muscle. The scale means nothing.

Why am I dizzy and shaky?

I started work at 6am, I've eaten a mixed nut bar, 3 choc bars and 3 cups of tea. I don't have a sweet tooth, I was just boredom eating and our crew bar doesn't have anything good. Now it's 11am and suddenly I'm dizzy, light headed, shaky and sweating slightly. This happens occasionally. Why? Or is it simply a sugar rush I wonder.
Answer:
Dizzy spells, shaking and sweating are all symptoms of vitamin B12 deficiency. You need to eat more foods rich in this vitamin!! :Yeast, liver, beef, eggs, milk, cheese and fish, kidney and pork. When we are in stress situations our bodies will naturally use up more of the B complex group of vitamins - B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12. These are a water soluble group of vitamins and need to be replenished in our bodies on a daily basis. The body can neither store or produce these essential vitamins. B12 is supplied primarily by animal products, since plant products usually dont contain it.Other symptoms you may be suffering from are Depression, irritability, moodiness, inability to concentrate, nausea and vomiting, headaches and migraines, insomnia and constipation, fatigue and exhaustion, numbness and tingling and prickling sensations in the outer extremities and even chest pains and heart palpitations!! Not very nice hey??!!Its actually quite frazzling and scary to experience these symptoms if you are unaware of the simple fact that you simply need to feed your body correctly. I have 3 school age children and a workaholic husband and each time one has a tummy ache, headache, nausea, too tired to do anything its generally because they've been ditching their lunches and snacking on junk food from the tuck shop!! I know its really easy to jus grab whatever is the quickest when you are rushed for time but unless you start planning your meals in advance and being prepared to eat properly you'll continue to experience these symptoms .. the best part is that as soon as you correct the nutritional deficiency your symptoms will disappear within the hour!! .... CHEERS
鈾?
Don't know but get it checked out, might be diabetes.
You need to see a doctor. It might not be anything, but it could be diabetes. It could be a sugar rush, but do you really want to take that chance?
sugar overload maybe!! 3 choc bar and cups of tea with sugar i bet?
Common symptoms of low blood sugar include the following:
Trembling
Clamminess
Palpitations
Anxiety
Sweating
Hunger
Because the brain is deprived of glucose, a second set of symptoms follows:
Difficulty in thinking
Confusion
Headache
Seizures
Coma
Ultimately, death
You haven't had anything proper to eat you need a meal break and eat something like sandwiches and some fruit.
Try drinking some water too you might be dehydrated.
get checked out for diabetes. sugar is dangerous and can affect some people more than others. take fruit to work. 3 choc bars is excessive and will damage your body.
Parkinson, i thought.
Chocolate has a lot of caffeine and so does tea! You have too much caffeine, you should be drinking water when you work out not tea and chocolate!
sugar YES''
I get like that when I have previously eaten anything with monosodium glutamate in it, like a pot noodle. I think its your body telling you that you are short of vitamins!
most likely sugar rush it could be lack of sleep that happens to me a lot get it checked out anyway
Youre recking your blood sugar levels too much mput of sugar . try to have a protien start for breakfast and a good Carbohydrate . you may be the type of person that cannot face food in the morning I suspect you are with all the imput of sugar
So how about bread and Ham and chesse . i would say porridge but many peolpe do not like it but its the best GI food there is it will keep you going till lunch time
Too Much sugar TOO fast! Could be a low blood sugar thing...you NEED to get a Dr's opinion ---tell them what you ask us.PS) You need to eat more properly rather than junk.
caffeine, your blood pressure.. I had to take my son to the ER last week ~ he drank 2 Pepsi. My Dr. was furious with me. My 10 year old sons blood pressure was off the charts! He told of a 14 yr old wanting to game overnight. He took an over the counter caffeine pill and downed 2 Pepsi. The boy went into a coma and they spent 2 days pumping caffeine off his stomach. Stick to water, milk, or OJ for a couple of days, watch the salt intake and have your blood pressure checked. This is probably serious, not to frighten, and that much sugar to your body at one time isn't good. I am diabetic and I can tell you I don't need drugs to get high, all I need is German Chocolate cake. Whoa! Good luck and stay healthy!
It sounds like you are having a drop in blood sugar as a result of the high insulin level that the morning required to metabolize the high sugar and caffeine levels. The spike in insulin causes your blood sugar to drop too low and your brain is the first to feel the effects of a lower blood sugar level. The best way to prevent this is by eating a mixed breakfast that includes a protein to slow down the need to metabolize a high sugar level and fiber which does the same. Caffeine enhances the insulin spike effect. Good luck, Marlo
As said by many, most likely it has to do with your nutrition. So watch what you eat. Take with you some fruits, and other healthy foods and water to have as needed. You do not mention the kind of job you do, so it is difficult to comment on issues as heat, effort, etc.One thing you can do to help the dizziness to go away is to lay down face up and have your legs higher than your head while breathing slowly and deeply (without overdoing it). You should feel better in a few minutes.
Watch out! Rise slowly and while in breathing!!!

Why am I cheating so badly on my diet?

Is it true right before your menstrual, you're harmones are so out of wack that you binge? I go to the gym 2-3 times a week. But for some reason this week I cheated so badly. I had a Big Mac last night (that is definietly a no-no!) I had Cookies %26 Creme ice cream yesterday morning (so good but so bad) I had french toast this morning (no excuses, I'm just horrible!) and what make it so embarrasing is that I just went to the gym yesterday. Ladies could it be my menstrual that is coming? or should I just be ashamed of myself for being so weak? I know everyone binges.but this is ridiculous! Please advise!
Answer:
You're not horrible. And it probably doesn't have much to do with your period. I suggest you read this article, "The Truth About Cholesterol and Fat" by Marcelle Pick, ob/gyn NP at
http://www.womentowomen.com/nutritionand...
She says that our bodies are hard-wired to crave cholesterol and fat because they're necessary for your health. We don't get enough of the right kinds of fat in our diets because we eat too many processed and refined foods. It sounds strange, but if you add certain fats to your diet, you'll reduce cravings for things like Big Macs and ice cream. Read the whole article to learn more. Hope this helps!Darlenehttp://www.herbal-remedies-for-busy-moms...
Everyone binges, forgive yourself and get back on track with good eating and exercise. Good luck.
eeeh its summer! you get some freebee's but its those little treats that makes life funner isnt it?
NOPE you have poor will power hun =that's what it takes to stick to a diet
Self control over Self indulging.
Seriously control this! it's called "binge" and that is something hard to control but once you get a grip, it's easy.If it is your period then try to allow just ONE thing you can eat only in one week!
Don't diet change your eating habits. Dieting always fails you are no different than the other1 million that try to diet and fail Change your eating habits do not set yourself up for disapointment
You may feel the need to binge. However, if you know its your period coming. Learn how to deal with it. Don't be ashamed. Your only human. Just don't use that as an excuse to binge. If you get my drift.
One of the symptoms of PMS(Pre-menstrual syndrome) is increased craving for Fats, Sweets, and salt. So, yes, that could be why you keep cheating. Try to get plenty of healthy sugars(e.g. fruits, whole grains, ext.) to curb these cravings.
The key to any diet is willpower, but you aren't weak just because you aren't able to keep yourself back. But I'm not advocating "binging" either. If you are unable to keep yourself back, avoid those foods, or hang around someone who will be able to stop you whenever you want to eat something you shouldn't.As a man, I don't know much about the menstrual cycle, but I have never heard of any connection (don't quote me on that!).
i have been having the same problem lately not with the period thing but with binging i have lost about 45 pounds and i have not had my period for 4 months because of this i dont know why i am binging so much lately but i have heard that during menstrualisation you tend to want more junk food
Yes, I think there's some truth to the PMS thing. It always happens to me, too. I crave all sorts of fat, especially McDonalds fries and things like muffins and sweets. I don't normally eat too much of that stuff. I also suffer from horrible fatigue about 2-3 days before my period...sleeping much more than usual and then being really groggy in the morning.Don't feel too bad about the eating - I think it's totally normal. Just try to exercise regularly, and MINIMIZE (notice I didn't say eliminate) the binging, and you will be fine.
Because its easy.
Yeah, women tend to eat more before their menstruation begins because their bodies are craving certain nutrients. Craving the nutrients causes you to want food that your body recognizes as having the nutrients in them (Big Mac=iron, ice cream=calcium, french toast=...well, I don't know, there are too many different recipes). The way to avoid this is to think about what you want and try to find a healthy substitute that would have the same nutrients. (Big Mac to fish sandwich, ice cream to skim milk.)Hope that helps! I'm having the same problem...especially with the Big Macs!
It could be that you have eliminated everything that is bad for you. If you take small quantities of the things that are bad like the big mac cut it into 4 pieces and don't eat it all at one sitting. If you crave something you need to have a little bit of it or you will eventually be off of your diet. I tried cutting everything out all at once and it was hard because I would binge and then everything else was a waste of time and effort. If you do everything in moderation it is better say you want cookies have one or two and don't eat anything else that is off of your diet for that day. It worked for me. I find it harder at that time of the month because I do have weird cravings. Don't be ashamed of yourself just take it slow. Pick up where you left off. Good luck its easier to gain than to get rid of. Another thing I would get really bad cravings for ice cream so I would get yogurt at the store and freeze it and it would satisfy me that may help you to and it mixes things up a bit.

Why am I always so Hungry?

So I have been trying to cut my calorie intake to 1600 calories, like it was suggested to me. But why in the world am I always hungry. I tried cutting my sugar intake, and drink lots of water, and eat brown rice and other things like that but I feel so starved. What can I do? I will eat something at 5 pm and at 6pm my stomach is wanting more.
Answer:
it could just be psychological, when we over eat we think that we have to be "full" to not be hungry. and u might be missing that "full" feeling...i would eat smaller meals maybe and allow more calories for random snacking, but be carefull, you will want to prepair all kinds of low calorie snacks ahead of the game. For example i have cherrioes put in baggies, that way if i get tempted i just grab a bag and i make it to the next meal. Not to worry once you get use to your diet it will be better.
im da same way
is it really your stomach which is hungry is it not just psychological you must consult yourself with that trry doctors too and keep yourself busy for you not to think of food
Donuts Do Not Equal Love!
You should be eating 1 oz. of meat only and the rest should be veges. You can fill yourself up on veges as long as they are not covered in butter or salt. Also, it's ok to snack, just make sure it's not over 100 calories. Your stomache also has to get used to not having as much put into it. It has to shrink down, and it doesn't happen over night.
Because you have the mooches.
You have a fast metablism, you need to eat more fiber and whlole grains, fiber sits in your stomach and is slooowwwlly released in your blood steam, pretty much the same with whole grains. Try eating an apple w/a glass of water or some almonds when your hungry, these foods will cut your cravings
you know what you should do. go see a doctor cause you might have worms in your stomach. these can make you feel hungry. I once had some and they made me have a ferocious appetite.
stick with a low GI diet
Hey, I used to have this same problem. I started an Atkins-type program 3 years ago, and after about 2 weeks, my hunger diminished. I am never hungry unless I really need to eat now, and I have lost 70 pounds. Good luck!
Your mind is playing tricks on you! stay busy and drink lots of water! I've been on a life changing plan for about two weeks now and have lost 6 pounds already! DO NOT CALL IT A DIET and it will work!!!GOOD LUCK!

Why am I always hungry?

I am a bottomless pit when it comes to food, I am 14 years old and 5'6"/115 pounds and I always eat more than my parents combined. I would like to eat more food so I can gain weight but no matter how much I eat I don't gain weight and I am still ravenous. I don't know why I am always so hungry, do you know what can cause this?
Answer:
You're a growing, developing teenager with a high metabolism. This is wonderful that you're metabolism is so fast, because you will probably not get fat.I worked with a young woman who was 6ft and 120 lbs who was built like a fashion model, yet ate like a horse. She wanted to gain weight, so for lunch she'd have a roast beef sandwich, chips, a soda (not diet), and washed it all down with another sandwich. Not an ounce, she didn't gain even an ounce. Lucky her!You are normal, be glad you've got such a wonderful metabolism.
High metabolism? Also, you should be happy you aren't gaining weight, unless you want to play a specific sport like football (which I highly doubt) you don't need to gain weight.
I am in exactly the same situation. I am ALWAYS hungry but its probably something to do with your metabolism because if you're energetic and you have a fast metabolism, you can process your food quickly. You won't gain as much weight compared to someone who has a relatively slow metabolism.
it is maybe a thyroid problem , visit a doctor

Why am I always hungry?

I'm not fat at all, I have a fast metabolism, but it seems whenever there is food around I always start eating. And after I'm full, 3 hours later I'm starving again. It's usually a big problem when my dad hasen't gone to the store in a few days, when there barely any food in the house I'm starving like crazy, but when my dad buys food it just goes so fast.Is there something wrong with me?
Answer:
no nothing is wrong with you, i have the same problem too,...im not fat im thin and i eat ALOT. but since you have such a fast metabolism you have to get food into your system as fast as you lost it. try doing something to keep you busy and not really eat as much. but try not to eat fatty foods. :)
i dont kno...
haha yea thats average after every 3 hours just eat a lot of fruits and vegtables so u get full more and eat less peace
if ur skinny then its ALL good...... for now
omg.. how big is your stomach?!
na food is good, try drinking lots of water. It fills you up and you won't be as hungry.
No as long there is food to eat. As you've said you had a fast metabolism. You are lucky you won't be filing excess fats.
i have the exact same thing im skinny as hell and i eat non-stop so idk really i heard that its is because u digest ur food so fast
i'd rather have a fast metabolism and eat all the time than binge and get fat all too quickly.
from a mom's point of view i would say you are lacking in some essential vitamins and if you are still in your teen years it is pretty normal for this to happen during growing spurts, well it was normal for my crew.
Same with me... I have a very fast metabolism and am very active. It appears that I am "more hungry" when I have nothing to do. You can remedy this if you space your meals. Maybe eat half your plate and then the rest a few hours later. In between eat half a fruit and water. It is very filling... Good Luck!
It could be all in your head. Maybe you trained yourself to behave that way. Seeing the food is the trigger. What you need to do is untrained yourself. A couple of things to try are 1) eat slower. This way you will eat less because you will give your body time to get the message that you are full. 2) eat the right things as in things that are nutrional for you, not potato chips and other junk. 3) drink lots of water, water will fill you up and make you feel less hungry.
no there's nothing wrong, it's just part of having a fast metabolism.
well you may not be fat now, but it sounds like if you continue your eating habits you're going to end up to be fat. start watching what you eat. eat more fruits and vegetables. I'm sure your dad is not very pleased on how much food you consume either. so do it for you and for your dad's sake.
try eatting healthy food with good carbs and well nuts are good fing stuff that keep u full

all i do is eat im like permenatly hungry
but i found that if i just suck on a massive lollypop permenatly lol i think the one my m8 gav me had acid in it cause i got stoned but anyway. suckon lolliepops between meals
This is very normal. Humans (a long time ago) used to be gatherers, so we'd eat many small meals during the day. I'm guessing like most of us you eat 3 times a day, which is very artificial. What I do is take my normal meal, divide it in two halves, eat one half now, eat one half 2-3 hours later. That way I eat 5-6 smaller meals in a day and I feel full.

Why am I addicted to being fat?

I've always been a little on the chunky side but then I lost a bunch of weight and felt really good. Then last year I was very depressed and all I did was eat and sleep and gained all my weight back plus more. Now I'm over my depression but I can't seem to get back into that state of mind that allowed me to lose all that weight. I try to be active but it's my eating habits that's I can't seem to shake...I just finished eating McDonalds. How can I get back into that state of mind of eating better and getting more physical activity?
Answer:
try jogging but listen to music and do sit ups and eat salads fruits vegatables in no time u will lose weight
Do somthin that will keep your mind off eatin that what i did.
i fought the battle for years. the best way to keep things in check, quit eating at 5:00 p.m. you can eat what ever you want and continue to loose weight and feel better about yourself. its easier to deal with depression if your thin..at least you still look good
try weight watchers it's seemed to have helped alot of people I know -also try joining active clubs like a bike club -just hanging with the right people will help put you in the right frame of mind
im actually in the same boat. finding the drive has been really hard. but i've started to look at food as fuel instead and thats really helped. i've also let my friends and family know what im doing and they've been really supportive. they're even trying to get healthy as well! find someone to do a workout with. its true when they say you'll stick to a workout when you do it with someone. i also read up on nutrition as much as i can and it makes me more aware of why i need to be healthier.
www.prevention.com has really great tips on nutrition and excercise! good luck to you!!

Why a spotter's slight touch helps a weighlifter complete a rep?

When weightlifting, say, the bench press, why is it that when someone is seemingly stuck, a slight touch by a spotter will allow the lifter to complete a lift?
Answer:
For me it's a bit psychological. The reminder (slight touch) that I have support by the rested spotter, gives me the extra bit of energy to complete the lift. Also it's the comptetive nature of someone watching me. :)
Because the spotter is rested and strong. It's easy to lift the barbell one time especially when the exerciser is helping you.
The spotter is adding to the forward motion so just the slightest push can make a big change.

Wht are the excersies are there to increase back seat?

hi my height is 5.2,weight is 50kg,my structure like a male i.e sholder is more brode the my back seat,so i need to increase my seat, give any tipes or excersies to increase my back seat
Answer:
I take it that by "back seat" you mean your ***. If this is correct, squats and lunges are the best way to go. Especially squats though. Make sure you have good posture when doing them. If you don't, not only could you hurt yourself, but you won't get the full benefits either.First off, make sure your knees aren't out over your toes. You can do this by using a technique where you "pop" your back. So stick your rearend out, locking your lower back, chest out, eyes looking up, and sit down as though you were getting up from a chair...I know it sounds odd, but I promise it works. (You can find your true position by sitting down in a chair, and standing up like you normally would, this will allow you to feel what position your body should be in when you are going into a squat instead of coming up out of a chair.) Make sure when you do this your quads go all the way parallel to the, floor, this is when you breath in. On the way up, tighten your ***, and breathe out, all your energy to push you back up.
Start out with lower weights since I take it you are not used to doing these yet. If you start to high, your body will be in for a hurting. Work on your posture before just jumping into it also. Do 3 sets of 10-12 with lower weight. Then as you become stronger, up your weights and decrease your reps to 6-8.

Whole grain white bread??

They say that one of the worst carbs is white bread because it turns to sugar/ calories= fat. And that whole grain breads are better. What about the new whole grain white breads that are recently out. They taste so good! Like white bread but are high in fiber like whole grain breads. What do you think? Is it a good carb or a bad carb? Will it have the same reaction as plain white bread or is it better like whole wheat/grain bread?
Answer:
As long as it is 100%whole grain you are ok.
Carbs are carbs... We need them, but we should moderate our intake of them...
Overloading on them makes us sluggish and can add pounds to a frame. However they are a great source of energy and fuel for our bodies.
Just make sure you are getting 100% whole grain. Enjoy! :)
Bad carb. You can add fibre to almost anything, doesnt make it healthy though.White wholegrain bread is loaded with bleach... YUM!
They actually have stuff like that in the US? I wouldn't really trust them. The best bread you can buy is from a bakery, all fresh with whole-grain and lots of good fibers. At least, in Europe we seldom buy packaged bread.

Who will be having FISH for lunch on Friday?

Answer:
of course..i would never eat meat on a friday
Not me
No not me
Is it fish friday again?!?!?
i got some Whitting Filet i'm cooking 2morrow and some Catfish Nugget also.
Not for lunch but we will be for dinner. Haddock in a cheese and spinach sauce with new potatoes and peas. yum yum
Me, got a nice sea bass to go with the seafood salad I just made! yummy!
Sorry but I don't like fish...
I am going to Bar Ha!Ha! with some workmates and going to have their Posh Fish Finger sandwich mmmmmmmmmmm!
Ew.
They'll be serving fish at my work, like they do every Friday, but I won't eat it. I can't eat the same thing every week on the same day - I hate repetition and the fish just generally isn't very nice.
I think the question is "Who the hell knows what they'll eat the following day?!"I don't even know what I'm gonna eat next, you sound like you plan too much = |

Who needs more Calories?

Who needs more Calories, relatively (i.e. number of Calories per kg of body weight) 鈥?a healthy 2 year old child or a healthy 30 year old adult? Why?
Answer:
A 2 year-old should NEVER eat the same amount of calories that an adult does. A toddler's stomach is only about the size of their fist. They still need to eat heatlhy snacks a couple of times a day, but at age 2 the fat content needs to be cut back. A child over the age of two needs to be cut back from whole fat milk to 2, 1% or skim because after that extra fat is not needed for brain development.
Obviously the adult because he or she is LARGER. There are more muscles which need calories to do the work of movement. Remember, all calories are is energy, and in this case you're basically asking, what requires more gas (energy), a motorcycle (the child) or an SUV (the adult).Of course this depends on health but let's assume that both are healthy. The most calories are probably needed by full grown adults just after puberty, say, 18-25 year olds because they are fully grown, and their muscle mass and metabolism is typically at a maximum. Everyone is different, though.
Well it depends on where you place value. A healthy baby will consume more calories and use the energy to grow and develop, a healthy 30 year old will use the same energy to sustain there body and repair damage inflected to it. So a baby can burn more calories then the adult but that's due to it metabolism. The adult will burn less then the baby unless they have boosted there metabolic rate by exercising and or doing some short of activity.

Who is right about these calories?

Ok so I bought some wild salmon the other day and on the back of the package it says 100 calories per 4oz. yet i looked up wild salmon on the web and it said 150 calories per 4oz. which is right? That is a big difference. it is the same with chicken the package will say 100 calories per 4oz but the net says 120-150 per 4oz. who do i believe.
Answer:
Always use the nutritional label that is physically printed on your food item to calculate your nutritional information. Even though "salmon is salmon," each manufacturer could use different preservatives, flavoring and other additives that could ultimately change the overall nutrition of the product (like calories, sodium, cholesterol, etc). When the original packaging isn't available, or you cannot find the nutritional info on the specific brand's website, try and nutritional label website such as http://www.calorieking.com where you can search by brand names and get more accurate info.Hope this helps!
The package. Net generalizes.
The package obviously. Different salmon has different nutritional values and the web wont have the right information for your certain variety.

A complete, yet easy to understand explanation of exactly what is required for weight loss to take place. How it happens, why it happens, and most important of all... what you need to do in order to make it happen. You can not skip ahead. You will need to know this in order to create your weight loss diet plan in Phase 2.So, to sum up, by the end of this page you're going to know how to lose weight. Sound good? Great. Let's get to it...
CaloriesYou know when you eat food and drink drinks? Well, every one of those foods and every one of those drinks contain calories. Say it with me... calories. The reason I'm mentioning calories to you as though you are 5 years old is because the answer to the almighty "how to lose weight" question all revolves around calories. Not only does everything you eat and drink contain calories, but everything you do burns calories. Literally every step you take and every move you make burns calories. In fact, your body actually burns hundreds and even thousands of calories each day on its own just functioning. You could sit still all day and your body would still burn calories. So now you may be wondering, if everything you eat contains calories, and everything you do burns calories, shouldn't they just cancel each other out? Yes, they should... and they do. If you consume the exact same number of calories that your body burns each day, your weight would stay exactly the same. If your body naturally burns 3000 calories a day, and you happen to eat 3000 calories a day, your weight would not change. In this example, 3000 calories is what's known as a calorie maintenance level. It's the number of calories required for the body to maintain it's current weight.I should probably have you repeat "calorie maintenance level" with me, because if there's one thing more important than calories when it comes to losing weight... it's your calorie maintenance level. 1. Who has a myspace and is it good or bad 4 your lifestyle?

well i have a myspace and i really like it but i have heard a lot of storys of people who get addicted and become fat or get a heart attack becuz they r soo into it-- i know its crazy right? but i Just want 2 know from people if it has effected them and will it effect me?
Answer:
Ive never heard of that happening before.
It's okay, but I wouldn't become hooked on it. Devote a maximum of 5-10 mins a day, and make sure to keep your info private.
I have one and I never got addicted to it. Nothing bad ever happened to me.
does that really make sense to you? "people are getting heart attacks from myspace".Myspace is addicting, but not to that extent. Thats just stupid.
no it hasnt effected me
i excericise regualry ((the same as b4 i started my mysapce))
I eat healthy still
although im not addicted i only go on once a day to check my mail or something
i spend wayy more time doing homeowork anyways
i do have a myspace and yes it is addictive... well, let me say that there is no such thing as addiction but it is a bad habit. i'm on mine all of the time, checking my email from my cellphone just to see if anyone has sent me a message. it is very time consuming, however, no i have not gotten fat from it and no i have not had a heart attack. you may have heard about the fat thing because yes obviously if your eyes are glued to the screen, your obviously not being physically active, which would lead to eating at the computer and no calorie loss. so it's up to you if you want to get a myspace.
I have it and its addictive but Great lol xxxxx
I will say that it depends on the person. I used to have a myspace but I didn't exert enough self control to limit the time I spent on it. So, at the advice of my Mom, I deleted it. I sometimes miss it (it was pretty much the only way I could stay in touch with some friends) but I know that it was best to get rid of it. After I graduate and have learned more self control, I may consider getting a new one. So I would say that it definitely can be addicting, and can adversely affect your life, but only if you let it. Myspace in itself isn't bad, it's the way people use it that can be bad.
there is noway myspace can make a person get fat,i been had one i still do i just get on there to check my messages and so on but thats its,i mean there really nothing but talking like ByeDr.com..

Who do you feel is responsible for the amount of overweight children these days?

Answer:
The parents. They are the ones who buy the food that is in the house as well as the snacks and they are the ones who let the kids have video games and computers.
The parent(s) and the child (age depending)
cheetos
Obesity is on the rise for more reasons than people understand. Over eating is not the ONLY reason.Factors in weight gain can be:
Medications, high cholesterol, glandular problems, metabolism rate, diabetes, hormonal agents, thyroid problems, hereditary genes, pituitary gland tumor... and the list goes on. Also, for lower income families (working or not) the cost of healthy food typically costs more. As well as physical activities (soccer, hockey, gymnastics, etc) and with working parents, how can they always find the time for those activities? There are so many factors that play a role in it. Also, things like soda pop cans have become larger than the 60's. Hence another reason obesity is on the rise. A lot more pre-packaged foods are out, chips bags are bigger, etc.
Licenced Paramedic
Parents are.
Kids come home from school and snack on what is available. On the way home from school they buy something from a fast food chain. At lunch at school they use their mobile phones and order pizzas... At school they buy candy and chocolate. At home parents are too lazy to cook and they eat processed food 6 days a week for dinner. At breakfast they eat candy covered cereal with full cream milk and spread chocolate on a butter coated piece of white toast while washing it down with milo.Parents are to blame. Parents don't pack lunch anymore. Parents give them too much money to spend on rubbish food, Parents stock our houses with processed crap for them to eat and Parents eat processed foods for dinner. Who else can we blame but ourselves? We try. We buy fresh fruit and veges and fresh meat for meals and for our children we prepare 20 meals a week at home... which they take with them.. and we give them "zero" spending money. If they want to go to the movies we give them enough to go etc.. They have no allowance.. yet they still manage to find ways to eat processed foods from time to time... this effort pays off a bit but it is a constant battle of wills.
I'd hate to argue, but healthy food does NOT cost more. Expensive food is processed food. Organic definitely is expensive, but just because something says organic, doesn't mean it's healthy. 3 dollars for 10 apples is much better compared to 3 dollars for a tv dinner.
parents and some schools.
schools have vending machines and give out lunches that are basically fast food.
and most kids do not dress out in physical education.
everyone has to make an effort but it begins with the parents.
I think all of the processed foods sold in stores %26 from fast food restaurants play a big part, but also a lot of parents are lazy now days or too busy worrying about other stuff so they just give their kids everything they want just to get them out of their hair.
With all due respect to the paramedic, with the exception of some very rare cases gaining weight is a matter of eating more that you burn off.Kids are and adults for that matter are eating greater volumes of food that have larger energy content then they need, and exercising less. So they are hitting the formula on both factors. When I was a kid, kids hated to come inside, because it meant stopping playing. Today kids have to be forced to go outside. And going to a fast food place was a rare treat. You know people seem to want to blame everything on things like genes and such, but genes don't change in one generation, and the problems with weight and diabetes is this generations new problem
Plenty of blame to go around. TV commercials (they always sell the most unhealthy foods!), sedentary entertainment like video games and the internet, being buried in homework that allows no time for play, parents who dont set a good example, lack of time to prepare healthy dishes, the list goes on.

Who cares if Rossie O' Donnell leaves "The View"?

She makes me sick anyway and won't be at all missed! She just talk a lot of sh*t and expect for everyone to agree. Hopefully if she does get her own show, she would hire a personal hairstylist and make up artist.
Answer:
She does have fans but i'm not one of them. I think she is a spoiled brat and I can't wait to get rid of her, though i've heard talk she is getting her own talk show again. *sigh* when will we be rid of her? Down with Rosie!
i'm pretty sure she has fans...i heard since she came on the ratings went up.
not I never watched her show so won't even know what I'm missing
I don't really care but she is very funny!!
-belly
I certainly don't care.
I like rosie. We need more poeple like her who have brain. Trust me the lord didn't bless her with looks nor a winning personality but the lady is wicked smart. I never liked or watched the view before she came on. Now I watch it everday because of her. I like her opinions. I'm tired of the cookie cutter opioins on tv. Everything is just so cute and perfect...blah. We need an different point of view out there.I think its hard for a lot of young poeple to understand what it means to think and have an opioin aobut life. Most twenty somethings don't care about anything, they live like in this happy bubble where they simply listen to music and chat on the cell and live in a world absorbed by what ever paris hilton or britney spears is doing.. Someday in thier lives they will wake up and wish they had a Rosie Odonnel to tell it like it is.
Sounds like someone is hating on Rosie. It's ok, maybe one of these days you will have enough talent to have your own Talk show and have millions of people talking about you. That show was abysmal before Rosie came on it and when she did the ratings rose. When she leaves, the ratings will go back down. It's okay to hate. but don't expect any of us to care.
She was on The View? hehe I don't watch alot of TV so I don't care ^p^y
Wait...The View is still on the air? ;-)I can't believe anyone watches that piece of crap. I can go to any Starbucks and listen to four women sitting around and complaining...and at least then, I get a white mocha out of it!
Obviously a lot of people. Rosie, whether you except it or not, is a huge part of our current pop culture. She's controversial and that, unfortunately, is what draws people to watch her. She's not so bad, but I hate The View, I never watch it, but I really don't mind Rosie at all.
no one will miss her !!
I care. She is a very talented and smart woman. She is also very funny and self-deprecating. Her views and opinions have made this show very interesting and I have looked forward to watching it every day just to hear her "view". I admit that she can be rather passionate about her beliefs, but I admire her for that. I don't think her purpose is to make everyone agree with her. She just wants people to really think. Do you always judge people by the way they look?
It wasn't nice of you to make the comment about the hairstylist
and make-up artist. Sorry, I know you won't like my answer as
I do not agree with you.

Who cannot get their weightloss diet started, i just cant stay on it?

Answer:
it takes about 2 weeks of thinking and planning before a person really can get involved in their weight loss plan. maybe you are expecting too much and depriving yourself too much. just eat a well balanced diet with proper portions, drink lots of water and exercise 30 minutes every day. allow yourself an indulgence once in a while. I eat out once a week and order whatever I want. use these sites to help you get in gear.
Perhaps the plan you are on is not the right one for you. There are literally hundreds of different diet plans out there and you should find one that you will find easy to stick to.
yes that would include meit's so frustrating isn't it. i can usually start a day great but by the evening completely ruin it by convincing myself i don't care anymore. 10 minutes later i'm depressed and VOW to start a healthy regime tomorrow. p.s. i've done that for the past 3 months.gosh, i wish it were easy. i think i'm doing everything right but maybe some people are just meant to be larger. i work alot harder at weight loss than so much people around me (in terms of exercise and food control) but am experiencing lesser results. BUT WHY!!

Answer:
It's quaker. the 30g bags are all 6 syns, except for tomato and herb which is 6.5.
i think it is jacobs
They are made by Quaker and a bag generally tends to be 6.5 syns. Better off with a bag of Walkers Lite (about 4.5 syns)Good luck with the diet - I've lost 13lbs in 3 weeks and its my 4th weigh in tonight. Yay me.

Who and/or What makes up the roots of Yoga? Ten points!?

Answer:
The yoga of India is traditionally thought to have originated with the sage Patanjali, author of the Yoga Sutra. The discipline consisted of what he called eight limbs, which were the following:1.Yama: Five ethical guidelines regarding moral behavior towards others:Ahimsa: NonviolenceSatya: TruthfulnessAsteya: NonstealingBrahmacharya: NonlustAparigraha: Noncovetousness2. Niyama: Five ethical guidelines regarding moral behavior towards oneself:Saucha: CleanlinessSantosa: ContentmentTapas: Sustained PracticeSvadhyaya: Self StudyIsvara pranidhana: Surrender to God
3. Asana: Practice of yoga postures.
4. Pranayama: Practice of breathing exercises.
5. Pratyahara: Withdrawal of the senses, meaning that the exterior world is not a distraction from the interior world within oneself.
6. Dharana: Concentration, meaning the ability to focus on something uninterrupted by external or internal distractions.
7. Dhyana: Meditation. Building upon Dharana, the concentration is no longer focused on a single thing but is all encompassing.
8. Samadhi: Bliss. Building upon Dhyana, the transcendence of the self through meditation. The merging of the self with the universe. Sometimes translated as enlightenment. In traditional yoga it is also essential to have a guru, and to have renounced worldly life. What usually goes under the name Yoga in the west is not yoga at all, even when it seems relatively "spiritual" and serious. Actually, it would be pretty much impossible for most people today to practice.

While working out should I drink WATER??

I recently bought a treadmill and was wondering whether I should be drinking while working out or not?Is it bad to do this or should I keep hydrated?
Answer:
Drinking Water
Staying hydrated is vital to keeping your body temperature and electrolyte level balanced. When dehydrated, you can become fatigued, experience headaches, nausea, dizziness, heat illness and heat stroke.
How much water should you drink?
The old adage of 8 glasses a day is no longer true. Instead, think about how much you weigh and divide that number in half. That's how many ounces of water you should drink per day. For instance, a person who is 200 pounds, should drink 100 oz. of water per day to be adequately hydrated. (That's 12.5 glasses of water!) An athlete with a high level of muscle mass should drink even more, about two-thirds of their body weight in ounces per day. Are you dehydrated?
The easiest way to tell is to look at the color of your urine. The clearer it is, the more hydrated you are. If your urine is gold or deep yellow, you need to drink more water.Should you drink water while you exercise? And how do you prevent that sloshing feeling inside your stomach?
Yes, you should drink about 8 oz. every 15 minutes while exercising. If you drink smaller amounts (say 4 oz. at a time), you'll keep from getting that uncomfortable sloshing feeling, which often occurs when we get too thirsty and drink too much water at a time.Water vs. sports drinks-which is better?
Sports drinks contain extra sugar and calories that can benefit a real endurance athlete (someone who is exercising for 4 hours or more) or someone in an extremely hot environment. Otherwise, water is always a better choice both physically and economically.Bottled water-is it better for you?
Some bottled waters come from springs and some from metropolitan sources. It comes down to an individual's choice, which you prefer or whether you'd rather drink tap water. Just be sure to stay hydrated no matter which type of water you choose to drink
if you feel thirsty you should drink water, this means you are not hydrated. If you are not thirsty you are hydrated. Do you get thirsty while running? Then drink water
Yes definitly. Keep hydrated. I wouldn't suck down a lot of water while youre running or walking because it will make you feel weighed down. But keep sipping to feel refreshed. When you're done working out drink lots and lots of water!!
Its very good to stay hydrated while your working out!
of course!everyone drinks water while working out
or doing some kind of excercise!it's not bad at all!
I would definitely be hydrated prior to exercising.
You should always have water available to you while working out.
But the idea is to stay hydrated, by drinking half your weight in water on a regular basis every day anyway.
So good luck.
OK when your completely over with the workout that's when u drink H2O or Gatorade.if u drink while you're working out you'll probably get stomach cramps.
you should deffinitly drink lots of water so you don't get dehydrated.
A trainers advice to me was, drink water and make sure it is cold. The cells respond better to the cold water. Bow flex trainers also recommend this.
water, gatorade, powerade, anything but carbornated drinks. that'll give you cramps
It is important in all sports to keep hydrated. But you do not drink any water at all while doing the martial arts.
for sure
It's very important to stay hydrated while working out. Just make sure you are taking sips and not huge gulps. If you drink too much and start running on the treadmill it might bother your stomach. It's also important to drink water when you are finished working out to rehydrate yourself.
You should drink water before during, and after you exercise. If you feel thirsty, it is your body telling you it is already dehydrated.
you should drink water when you are finish working out It better for the body, especially the stomach.
If your thirsty it's to late any trainer will tell that. Do keep hydrated!
yes so you dont get dehydrated

While training in the gym, how many pills of aminoacids do u have to take per day to loose that extra weight?

On the box it sais u can take up to 15 pills ... isn't that to much for a day? I was thinking of a max of 4 pills per day
Answer:
I personally think that the amino acids are a waste of money and a way for whatever company is selling them to make money. Amino acids are simply the building blocks of protein. Therefore, I see no difference between eating a lean meat after working out and ingesting amino acids. Addiitonally, it is highly doubtful that the amino acids will help you lose weight. I would recommend eating a well-balanced meal after working out consisting of something like lean chicken breast, green leafy vegetables (without a lot of butter), and brown rice (good in moderation). Also, eliminate nearly all processed food from your diet. The key is to balance the calories burned with the calories ingested to achieve the perfect balance to both build lean muscle and burn fat.
What product is this? Amino acids are just protein. I'm not sure that taking a few protein pills will make you lose weight...
take as many as u want watever itys your body do what you want with it, ya know if ya wanna loose allot of wait become anorexic
The best way is diet and more cardio. Amino Acids can help your muscles recover, but you just need to limit carbs and get the cardio
Hi,I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at
http://www.freelstore.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!
Since I started to work out I was looking for a good weight loss product. I was on a diet but I felt that I needed a little "help" so I decided to try this great product and I had fantastic results. You can check their website at
http://www.goodlwizard.info , they give you a free trial and you only pay 6.95$ shipping and handling.

While running, my chest and neck starts getting tight, Why?

I just started running on a regular, and I use to run all the time. A 41 yr old in good health, athlete, and no health problems. Any suggestions?
Answer:
Hey sunshine! There could be any number of reasons for this. My guess without tests or background info would be your neuromuscular interaction. Muscles that used to be worked regularly are now being stimulated again. Muscle fatigue causes cells to undergo anaerobic respiration which causes lactic acid to build up. (this causes the "burn" or pain associated with excrze) Or muscle inflamation can cause nerves to start spasm. Just some extra for ya.plants have a similar system for anaerobic respiration but instead of lactic acid build up, they produce ethanol. (alcohol for fermentation) If we had this system, we would get drunk everytime we worked out. hmmmm. rest your muscles properly after a workout, maybe look into some supplements (only if interested) I heard creatine helps increase oxygen in muscle cells. This would help them repair faster, get stronger, less damage thus maybe less spasms. Look into it though, I heard mixed things on it. It did help me but we're all different biochemically.
under breathing or over breathing.
You might have some problem with your arteries, check it.
Get a medical check up done.

While on a diet,is it ok to eat cereal for dinner?

Answer:
Of course, as long as it's not some sugar-laden nutritionless glurp.
Have oatmeal.
Sure, the bulk is good for you. Watch out for sugar and fat-laden cream, though.
Cereal can be considered carbs so it's not good to eat cereal with a lot of sugar so if you are going to eat cereal at night use the point system and don't eat more than one small bowl of cereals like Special K
sure if its skim milk. but why would you want to have cereal for dinner? how about skinless chicken breast with a veggie?
Unless you're Seinfeld circa 1993...j/k
Just don't have like 20 bowls.
No cereal does not contain enough protein you should have well balanced meals and eating cereal is not balanced cereal contains to much starchy carbohydrates.

While on a diet,is it ok to eat cereal at night.?

Answer:
Its your overall calorie intake that counts, so if it fits into your goals for the day, than eat it if it isn't loaded with sugar, than you shouldn't eat it no matter what the time of day.Grape nuts and Kashi are very healthy.
depends on the cereal and how much you eat. Most are 99% sugar.
yeah i think so...
i read some where that its good for your metabolism
(wheat cerals)
Depends on what time you are going to bed. You should have your last meal a few hours before you go to bed. It also depends on how many calories you've consumed that day.
no, never eat right before you sleep, especially carbs
it's ok, if it doesn't have sugar and you only have a sm bowl :)
Sure it is just make sure the cereal you eat is a healthy choice , So many cereals are packed with sugar look for high in fibre cereals. I eat Post cereal ( honey bunches of oats) and it has the sensible solution label on the box which means it is the smarter choice cereal and it tastes great. I also use skim milk so no extra calories, Enjoy.

Which workout machine helps you loose weight all over the body that can be done at home?

Answer:
Treadmill. Treadmills are the best option for losing body fat. There is no such thing as 'spot loss' so don't buy into that hype. Just get yourself a treadmill and run 3 miles a day. Hold some light weights while you run if you really want to push yourself.
No machine. WINDSOR PILATES. this creates long lean muscle all over and talk about a flat tummy! check it out! combine this with a 30-45 min walk every day and you'll be looking fit in no time!

Which workout can give you the best results?

I'm just looking for a fun workout that can burn carbs.
Answer:
kickboxing has always been a popular workout. it workouts out your arms, legs, abs in one workout. it is always fun to let your aggression out and this way, it allows you to maximize your time working out and to really push yourself. pretty soon you'll be a lean, toned killing machine.

Which will make you burn more calaroies, biking or joggin/running?

Answer:
It depends on the exertion level you are performing for any one activity. Walking at a fast pace will burn more calories than biking at an easy pace. That said, jogging or biking outside are both great and you should do as many activies as possible to not over train or get bored as well as recriuting as many different muscles.
In my experience on treadmills and exercise bikes at the gym, about a half hour on the treadmill burns around 300 calories while the bike only burns about 250. I know I could up the intensity of either to burn more calories, but those are the levels where I feel comfortable. Both jogging and bike riding are a great workout, but I think jogging is a bit better calorie-burning-wise.
They're both excellent exercises. The one that works best for you will be the one that you enjoy. When you enjoy it, you stick with it and actually exert yourself more during the workout. As mentioned above, you can make either as intense as you want to, at which point they both will burn more calories. Also, burning more calories shouldn't be the main focus of a workout. The main focus should be to raise your metabolic rate, which is what really burns calories, even after you're done with your workout. This would be when your workout is intense enough for long enough, it'll raise your metabolism for several hours after the workout.Obviously, this is something you'd have to build up to. One of the biggest mistakes I see so many people making is hitting it too hard too fast with an exercise routine, then burning out. Also, it's hard to enjoy an exercise you dread doing because it's too hard. You should thne work your way up over time to a level of intensity and length of workout that will be most effective.

Which will help in losing weight...Jog or brisk walk ?

Answer:
It really depends on your body type and the level of activity you've had over the past few months. I'd like to first say it's best to ask your doctor! But otherwise, if you are ever unsure, you can test yourself by going out for a jog for about 30 minutes. If you are too tired or winded, try taking brisk walks until your lungs are accustomed to exchanging large amounts of air, and your heart gets accustomed to working harder. Then you can start jogging! The source I listed below claims brisk walking burns about as many calories [for women] as jogging.
Whatever it takes to get your heart rate up, that's the key to weight loss.
They say that 30 minutes of brisk walking every day is the best way to lose.
jog
http://www.best-diet-food.com
its really good to run %26 walk in bursts run for a minute walk for 30 secs...etc
Hello!A brisk walk will help you in cutting down fat. Whereas a jog will help you develop your cardiovascular (c.v.) system %26 help you burn fat %26 put on muscle. Regards,Vinay
both. depending on time taken. a brisk walk of 30 min daily helps in lose weight and a jog of 20 mins helps lose weight too. many people really do not know what a brisk walk means, so better try jogging. initially start with 10-15 min then can increase to longer duration.
You want to get your heart rate up but not too high. Around 124 bpm depending on your weight and age. So a brisk walk should do it. The treadmill at my gym has guidelines written on the machine.
Both. Which ever is the easiest for you. Do it. Then, try to switch over to the other one for variety sake.
Be good to your body. It will help you to prevent heart trouble.
Both get your heart rate up either way. Choose what you are most comfortable doing. If you are just starting out though I would recommend that you start at a brisk walk and work your way up to a jog and maybe even a run.
Whichever you can keep up for a longer amount of time - the goal is to keep your heart rate up for a prolonged period of time. Thus, running for 10 minutes would be less effective than jogging for 30 minutes.
Any type of exercise will help with weight loss as long as you keep it up. I would not recommend jogging because the impact can lead to oseto-arthritis, especially if you're overeweight. Fast walking would burn almost as many calories per unit time. If you can do 30 minutes of this type of circulatory exercise 4 times a week or more, it will definitely help. Don't expect immediate results, though. It takes 3-4 months before you start noticing. If you later add another exercise, some type of strength training (weights, calesthetics, etc) would be a good second method.
Both. But I would go with brisk walking. Jogging can damage your joints if you run on concrete, possibly leading to arthritis down the road.
I think both of them are quite effective ways if you are regular.
Just see what you are more comfortable doing. these both are ways people all over the world suggest . if you are really overweight I'd suggest you to start with brisk walk because you'll soon be out of breath jogging.
if that's not the case you can start with either of them.
If you're an asthamatic like or have any breathing trouble (which I hope you don't) I'd say you should go for brisk walk.If you are very keen on losing weight you can start swimming, aerobics, dancing or yoga as well.
A little control on your diet with this workout can create wonders.
Wish you luck!
